Welcoming Address from the Chairman

Dr.rer.silv. Ir. Sandy Nurvianto, S.Hut., M.Sc., IPM

It is with great pleasure that I present the Chairman’s Report for the International Symposium on Wildlife Biodiversity Conservation organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The symposium, held on June 2025, brought together experts, researchers, policymakers, and conservationists from around the world to deliberate on critical issues concerning wildlife biodiversity conservation.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the organizing committee, sponsors, speakers, and participants for their contributions to the success of this symposium. Their dedication and enthusiasm have played a crucial role in advancing the cause of wildlife biodiversity conservation.

The symposium aimed to create a platform for interdisciplinary discussions, exchange of ideas, and the development of collaborative initiatives to address the challenges faced by wildlife biodiversity. The event emphasized the importance of international cooperation in preserving our planet’s diverse ecosystems and ensuring the survival of endangered species.

The symposium resulted in the formulation of recommendations and action plans to address challenges identified during the discussions. These outcomes will be compiled into a comprehensive report that will be shared with policymakers, relevant governmental bodies, and international organizations. In conclusion, the International Symposium on Wildlife Biodiversity Conservation has not only provided a platform for knowledge exchange but has also laid the groundwork for collaborative efforts that will contribute to the preservation of our planet’s rich biodiversity. We look forward to seeing the impact of the discussions and initiatives that have emerged from this symposium in the years to come.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Dr. Sandy Nurvianto
